What I Offer

Therapeutic Approach

Dr Mirkhani uses a holistic approach towards any difficulty affecting a family nurturing an understanding of the challenge from a biological, psychological and social model of care. He supports the family analysing the exact nature and how the difficulties can be addressed using environmental, psychological, social and pharmacological strategies if needed.

Dr Mirkhani aims to engage with his patients using a client centred approach. He works with children, young people and parents in a way that acknowledges and validates the difficult experience a family is going through but brings to light the family’s own resilience which propels the desire for recovery.

He follows NICE guideline and evidence based practice in his multi-axial approach and when appropriate, respects a patient’s decision and safety in any pharmacological approaches and prescribing medication.

Dr Mirkhani has a particular interest in transcultural aspects of mental health care. His expertise in assessing clients speaking other languages helps him in this respect.
